In 1921 her daughters were in Derbyshire (Emma), and at Eltham, Kew and Ashford (Middx).

This obituary was carried in a local paper: There was laid to rest in the Churchyard on Tuesday afternoon, by the side of her husband who predeceased her two years ago, the remains of Mrs W Cobbold. The coffin, covered with choice flowers was met at the gate by the Rector (Rev. E G B Inge), who officiated. The mourners were her only remaining son, Mr A Cobbold (one son giving his life in the Boer War and three sons making the great sacrifice in the Great War), Mrs Winter, Mrs Humphries, Mrs Norman and Miss L Cobbold (daughters), Mrs P Cobbold, Miss D Cobbold and Miss L Cobbold (daughters-in-law and granddaughters), while many friends and Parishioners also attended to pay a last token of respect to the memory of one who was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in trouble or need. The coffin of polished elm with black furniture, bore the inscription: "Sarah E Cobbold, passed away August 21 st 1924 aged 80 years".
