| b London David Nabarro married secondly in 2002 in Coppet, near Geneva, Gillian Holmes with whom he has two children, Josephine Mari Holmes Nabarro (1997) and Lucas John Nabarro (2000). Dr Nabarro served as Special Adviser to the UN Secretary-General on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Climate Change. He also led the UN's response to the cholera epidemic in Haiti and previously served as the Special Envoy on Ebola. In September 2016 he was nominated by the UK to stand for the post of Director-General of the World Health Organisation. He was the second most popular candidate. In addition to his CBE he has a string of academic qualifications and awards. |
