| b Cockside Thomas had an older brother Savile William Shepherd born Cockside 26/5/1768; Savile had a shipping business and died in 1808. His portrait was painted by James Northcote in 1780. Savile married Elizabeth Smalley Browning (born 9th May 1773) on 10th June 1794. Savile and Elizabeth's only married child was Harriet Elizabeth born 17/1/1799, died 25/3/1864 (Ilfracombe) who married Edward Wren (baptised 12/8/1784, died 11/10/1847) Thomas had a sister Sarah born Cockside 18/7/1775 who died unmarried on 27th April 1840. Thomas had another sister, Anne Savile born Plymouth 20/7/1785, died 1845 who married John Culme, baptised 1st June 1761 at Charles Church, Plymouth. They married 28th December 1786 also in Plymouth. John was a major in the South Devon Militia and died 30th June 1800. |
