Rector of Southwood and of Limpenhoe, Norfolk. In the late 12c the Church of St. Botolph, Limpenhoe was given to Hugh, Abbot of Langley situated just across the River Yare, in exchange for a church Buckinghamshire.  The church remained a simple medieval rectangular structure with a thatched roof and low 15c squat tower until it was rebuilt in 1881 by architect A S Hewitt of Norwich during the incumbency of Rev. Theodore Henry Crossman Day.  When the roof was removed the walls which were said to have paintings, fell outwards, thus leaving little of the original building standing except for a Norman doorway now on the south wall and some reset 14c and 15c window frames.Hewitt extended the nave eastward to form a chancel and sanctuary, and increased the height of the tower.  Rev. Day who was patron and rector for 35 years, donated the organ, reredos and pulpit which was recarved in 1898.  He also placed the stained glass east window in the chancel in memory of his parents, Elizabeth & Rev. Charles Day, rector of St. Swithins, Norwich.
