Sun Assurance Co. in 1776 insured Thomas Andrews of Colchester, Brewer and Maltster on his dwelling house, wash house, counting house, storehouse and brewing office and Inns; Star & Garter, Mitre, Bishop's Blaze and Coach and Horses. The business was acquired by Charles Cobbold around 1823.Thomas was a Councillor in 1785 and Colchester Borough Chamberlain 1798-1812. |
