| b Woolpit, Suffolk d Belize, Honduras The London Gazette records that Spencer Cobbold Page, Gent, was promoted (to Ensign) in 28th Foot on 23/11/1855. In August 1856 The Edinburgh Gazette recorded "Ensign Spencer Cobbold Page to be Lietenant by purchase dated 1st August 1856" His monumental inscription in Woolpit Church reads "His memory will be treasured by the whole regiment for his devotion to the sick and dying during the fearful epidemic of Yellow Fever in October 1856" "I was sick and ye visited me" He died accidentally in Belize, Honduras in 1867. |
