| Reuben put the following announcement in the Hampshire Advertiser on 16th March 1861. It was repeated one week later. "I hereby give Notice that I WILL NOT BE ANSWERABLE for any DEBTS contracted by my Wife, Elizabeth Hallum, after this date. Witnes my hand, REUBEN SMITH HALLUM, Southampton, March 6th, 1861" This was posted a year before he married Elizabeth Brightley so perhaps his first wife was also Elizabeth? |
