In June 1920, appointed Sub-Editor at 'Country Life' magazine after being sent down from University of Cambridge for failing exams. Robert's father made Robert a Ward of Court to prevent his marriage to an older Polish woman. Robert went to Scotland to marry Eva Lybrzynska, as being a Ward of Court, he was forbidden to marry in England. Irregular marriage by Sheriff's Warrant. Robert, 19, Journalist and Eva (Secretary and Miscellaneous). 1927-1931 Interior Designer at Lutyens and Simmonds, London; 1934, London, joined board of Marks and Spencer as Director and Design Consultant. Worked with Architects at JM Munro & Son to design moldular facades for over 40 M & S stores; 1937 London, elected Licentiate of Royal Institute of British Architects. |
