| Rory went to Tonbridge School, leaving in 1960 to go to teach at Dehra Dun School in India. He returned to get a first class honours degree in English at St Andrews in 1965. He then went to Balliol College, Oxford, leaving in 1967 with a B.Litt. He taught at Uppingham School from 1967 to 1971 and again from 1972 to 1973 having spent a year teaching at the Taft Schoolo in the USA. In 1973 he joined the staff of Westminster School as Head of English and became a Housemaster. He retired from teaching full time in the eighties and moved to a Gloucestershire cottage where he practised the art of landscape gardening. Peter Tatton-Brown |
