| b 83 Crouch Hill, London As the surviving Canadian family of Pamela Ann Cobbold we wish to convey our deepest condolences to those who have cared for her and shared her time here on this earth. We never knew of her until a year ago. She was the daughter of Horace Cobbold and niece of our maternal grandfather, Robert George. Robert married Dorothy Neate and had two daughters, Joyce and Phillis. We are their sons and daughters. But, as was the way in past years, her existence was likely hidden from the rest of her family. So we have not had the opportunity to meet with her and ask questions of our English ancestors and for that we are sad. With her has passed a part of our family history which is likely now irretrievable. Her uncle Robert George was a highly skilled rose gardener who presided over the Royal Vancouver Rose Society for many years. He is credited with developing and naming a number of new varieties and was widely known for his expertise. Hence a rose bush planted in her memory is a wonderful idea and you have our full agreement with this expression of remembrance. Pamela Ann was a link to our past and she will be missed. We again thank those who have cared for her with love and compassion through the years. Robert, Valerie, Craig, Janice, Joy, Jackie, Glenn and Bruce. November 13th 2009 |
