| Eliza Ann Fox, born 1836, Isle of Wight, died 1874, Beverley, Yorkshire, aged only 38. Eliza was the daughter of Charles Darwin's cousin and a lifelong friend of Rev. William Darwin Fox (1805-1880) who married Harriet, daughter of Sir Richard Fletcher (1768-1813). Henry was Vicar of Skidby, Beverley, Yorkshire Gerard and Evelyn had 8 children in addition to Rosamond, who we show below, one of whom was Kathleen, born 1909, died 1933. Eliza Ann Fox's maternal grandfather, Sir Richard Fletcher was awarded posthumously the rare Wellington medal which escaped the family but was rescued, valued on the Antiques Roadshow and subsequently donated to the Royal Engineers' Museum. |
