| b Taiping, Malasia d Hammersmith, London Called up in 1945 Michael was commissioned into the Black Watch attached to the Parachute Regiment in Karachi where he found himself responsible for burying the bodies of hundreds of Muslims and Hindus massacred in the violence following Partition. Following demob in 1948 he undertook a number of jobs including establishing the Latimer Housing Trust which later became a major force for good with 60 houses and 200 tenants in North Kensington. His principal venture was founding Right Match International, a career counselling business in 1975 which attracted clients such as British Rail and National Nuclear Corporation before being sold in 1999 whereupon he and his wife retired to Hammersmith. |
