| b Sussex d Somerset Marjorie's father was Col. James Archibald Innes DSO JP, born 1875, died 16/8/1948 and her mother was Lady Barbara Lowther, born 18/4/1890. She was the Colonel's second wife who he married 18/4/1914 and divorced in 1921. His first wife who he had married in 1909 died in childbirth in 1912. He later married for a third time. After James's death in 1948 Lady Barbara reverted to her maiden name of Lowther. Lady Barbara's father was Lancelot Edward Lowther, 6th Earl Lonsdale. The family home was Horringer Manor, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Our picture of Marjorie is dated around the 1930s. |
