He inherited all the great James Watt inventor's estate and possessions, including a great mass of scientific papers and experimental apparatus and as a result of a wish expressed in his will by his great uncle James the younger, asssumed the additional surname of Watt by Royal Licence 1856. Family came from Ayrshire. Lived in Radnor, Wales. |
