| b Banstead, Surrey d (2nd Qtr) Hurlingham Club of a heart attack whilst playing Polo Son of Peter Robertson Rodger JP of Yewlands, Banstead, Surrey, a Port and Sherry Wine Shipper (1847-1910) who was born in Scotland and Mary Mitford born 1861 in Kensington, Middlesex. They had married in the 3rd quarter of 1882 in Kensington. His father had died before he married. At Jim's wedding the bridesmaids were his three sisters; Miss RR, Miss Kate RR and Miss Joy RR. The pages were Kenneth and David RR and the flowers were done by Mrs Dickson of Friar's Carse. Red Cross records show that James served as a volunteer from April 1918 to February 1919. |
