Joan's parents were Harold Blennerhassett who was born in Clerkenwell, London in 1882 and who died on 22nd February 1930 at Rochford, Westcliffe on Sea, Essex and Gertrude Humby who was born in Islington, London in 1881 and who died in 1958 in Bournemouth. They had married on 9th June 1910 in Edmonton, Middlesex. Harold and Gertrude emigrated to Wellington, New Zealand in 1913 and returned in 1915 with two children. It seems there may have been difficulties after their return (financial?) as the two children were raised by their mother's parents, Reginald and D M Humby. |
