| d Enfield Hall, Stalbridge, Worcestershire Sir John is the son of Lt. Col. Sir Henry Foley Grey, 7th Bt of Enville Hall Staffs. (1861-17/12/1914) and Catherine Sarah Payne (1861-30/8/1925) They had married on 14th June 1883. The Western Gazette of 19th November 1926 reported: "Baronnet Freed From Faithless Wife; Sir John Foley Grey Bt. of Enville Hall, Staffs was granted a decree nisi in the Divorce Court on Friday. His wife, Lady Jean Jesse Mary Grey whom he accused of misconduct with the co-respondent, Desmond Wise, put in no defence. Sir John Grey said he married his wife on July 4th 1919. She was then the divorced wife of Howard Montague Bulmer de Sales La Terriere and had been the co-respondent in the suit. In January 1924 they went to stay with his wife's brother in Ireland where Mr Wise was one of the house party. In April 1926 he received a letter from his wife from an hotel in Jermyn Street stating that she was living there with Mr Wise". |
