| Col. John was Conservative MP for Horsham in 1868 but was unseated the following year. He inherited St. Leonard's House from his father, presumably in 1871 and in turn left it to his two sons, Robert Beauclerk Aldridge (1865-1892) and Charles Powlett Aldridge (1866-1941). |
