| b Paddington, London d Killed in action in SW Belgium Geoff excelled at Winchester playing football "sixes" for Old Tutor's Houses in 1902 and for the cricket XI in 1903. He went on to Sandhurst (1904/5) and was commissioned into The Rifle Brigade with whom he served at home and in India. He played cricket for the Army in 1904 and 05 having a batting average of 70 and 42 respectively. 1911 saw him make 115 and 101 not out for the Green Jackets against Aldershot Command. In 1912 he played for the MCC, Kent and Hampshire. Geoff has no known grave but is commemorated on panel 19 of the Ploegsteert memorial. |
