| b Roydon, Asheldon Road, Wellswood, Torquay, Devon d Torbay, Devon. (Brain Haemorrhage) Died unmarried. Geoffrey went to boarding school at Beaudesert Park in Gloucestershire and Wellington College in Berkshire before reading Geography at Trinity College, Cambridge although he did not finish his studies. Instead, he joined the army at the outbreak of WWII. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant. Geoffrey was a master at a number of preparatory schools before retiring, including Boxgrove and Swanborne House School in Buckinghamshire. He was particularly active in the scout movement. Often he would spend the school holidays with his sister Mary. Whilst journeying to Devon to visit her in the Spring of 1985, he was taken ill on board the train from Paddington and suffered a brain haemorrhage. He died a few days later on 4th April 1985 at Torbay Hospital. He was cremated. Geoffrey never married. Vanessa Griffith and Anthony Cobbold August 2013. |
