| b London d In the Third Battle of Passchendaele Captain Griffith died aged twenty-six on 26th September in the Third Battle of Passchendaele. At the time he was serving with the 9th Batallion the London Regiment (Queen Victoria's Rifles) and had been mentioned in Despatches. He is remembered with honour on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Tyne Cot Memorial on Panel 151. His letters from the front line and posthumously awarded medals are in the possession of his great niece Vanessa Anne Griffith. Vanessa Griffith and Anthony Cobbold August 2013. ✓ |
