| Frederick Villeneuve was educated at Eton and Cambridge University where he obtained his BA and MB becoming a Bachelor of, and later, a Master in Surgery. He was awarded the McLoughlan Fellowship in 1964 and was consultant plastic surgeon at Montreal General Hospital and Montreal Children's Hospital and lecturer in the faculty of Medicine at McGill University, Montreal 1964-69; also consultant plastic surgeon at the Hammersmith Hospital, London and senior lecturer in Surgery at the University of London and the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, London 1970-81. He has been in full time private practice in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery since 1982. He was president of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery 1984-86; president of the Chelsea Clinical Society 1986; treasurer of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery 1986-92; president of the International Alpine Surgical Society; a member of the British Association of Plastic Surgery, British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the International Society of Aesthetic Surgery and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He was elected to the Royal College of Surgeons in 1963. His books include: The Care of the Rheumatoid Hand (1975), Surgery of the Rheumatoid Hand (1979), Breast Augmentation (1977), Some Methods of Improving Results of Reduction Mammoplasty and Mastopexy (1983), The Hand (1985) and Aesthetic Rhinoplasty (1994). |
