Joined 1st Life Guards in 1902; Lieutenant 1904; Captain 1907; resigned 1911; High Sheriff Co Down 1913; served in WWI 1914-18 as Captain in 1st Life Guards; Reresentative Peer for Ireland 1916-1961; OBE 1936; Adc to King George VI 1937-39; Lord Lieutenant Co Down 1949-61. |
