| Elizabeth Mary Rose first married John Sandys and had a son, John Thomas (died in 1793). Widowed in 1771 she married, in 1779, William Ivory, eldest son of the Norfolk architect Thomas Ivory. A portrait of Elizabeth Mary with her son hangs in Christchurch Mansion but neither were recognised as heir to the Fonnereau estate. However, Thomas had made provision for his mistress and their daughter by assigning an annuity to them. |
