Her mother was Sarah Stone who was born in 1830 in Newington Green, Middlesex and died in January 1895 in St Giles, London. Elizabeth's parents had married 23rd May 1852 in Bloomsbury, London. Elizabeth had an older brother, Frederick Henry Hoffman who was born in Holborn, London in 1853 and who died in Balmain, Sydney, Australia on 1st January 1867. Henry migrated from Germany to England and then to Australia as an Unassisted Immigrant as a passenger with his 2 children on the George Marshal in 1860. He and his brother George owned a bakery on Darling St. Balmain, Sydney. Henry Charles Hoffman remarried in 1865 in NSW, Australia, Jane Helen McClure who was born 1841 in NSW, Australia and died 3rd December 1911 in NSW. They had 9 children. |
