| b Farley Hall, Staffordshire Mabel Cotton was the third daughter of Major Rowland Hugh Cotton, JP, of Etwall Hall, Derbyshire (Burke's LG, 1937; 1952, Smith of Ashfold). She had married first, 21 7 1887, at Etwall, Beilby Eric Smith of Maidenhead, Berkshire (Burke's Ltd, 1952; Smith, of Ashfold). He died 30 1 1931 at the Wilderness Hotel, Cape Province, South Africa (The Times gives 31 1 1931). They had a son. Mabel married second, 2 10 1946 Captain Frank Northern, OBE of Cadogan Place, London, SW1; he died 21 3 1947). |
