Daniel Robertson [CFT #5951] Died: 1849 |
| ||||||||||||||||
Daniel's father, Andrew, had started as a merchant in Charleston and had married there in 1761 with early births there, but had moved to Georgia around 1772, but in the latter phase when as a 'Loyalist' he was active for the government that appears to have been both in Charleston and at Augusta, Georgia - and there were other sons settled at Savannah down to 1802. Daniel's immediate elder brother, Alexander was also brought to England in 1782/3 and died in London in September 1846. Another brother, John (possibly 1770?-1806?) was engaged by young William Adam to assist in the winding up of the Adams Brothers' business after 1794; he then set up as an Architect in Glasgow and Ayr - but someone else took over his unfinished project in 1806 and the lack of any further sightings suggests that he died that year - no marriage found. |
