| b Sloe Farm, Halstead, Essex d in Middleton, Sudbury, Suffolk David's birth was regisered at the Quaker Meeting House in Coggeshall but his christening in Bures did not take place until just before his marriage in 1825. His death, 11 years later was reported by a local paper as follows: "On Friday last, suddenly, aged 36, David Hanbury Esq., of Sudbury, of the firm of Messrs Oakes and Co., bankers. The deceased was on a visit to his brother, Edw. Hanbury Esq., at Hacheston, near Woodbridge, and appeared during dinner in his usual health and spirits, when he fell back and instantly expired. His death has caused a great sensation in Sudbury, the deceased being universally respected." The cause of death is thought to have been an Apoplectic Fit. |
