b Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

d Aukland, New Zealand (but buried in Honolulu)

Charles was the 'Silver Tenor' owner of the Montague Turner Opera Company which toured Australia.

It is said that Charles collapsed and died on stage. It is possible this occurred whilst touring in New Zealand.

Charles is buried in the Mission Church Cemetery, Kawaia Hao, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. His gravestone is a large stone with the words (top) "In Loving Remembrance", followed by "Nothing in my hand I bring, Simply to thy cross I cling." His wife's grave is a small stone next to his with the words "Mary Annis Cooke Turner 1846-1920." Her parents are buried close by.
