| b Grosvenor St, Westminster Sir Charles's father was Hon Edwin Charles William Ponsonby born 13th October 1851 in Gloucestershire who died 15th October 1939 in Oxfordshire. His mother was Emily Dora Coope born 20th May 1859 in Essex who died 30th October 1897. They had married 10th December 1878. Edwin Charles married secondly 17th February 1906, in London, Hilda Marion Smith who was born in Hertfordshire in 1867 and died 15th October 1943. There were no children. Sir Charles was Conservative MP for Sevenoaks, Kent 1935-1950 and played cricket for Oxfordshire in the Minor Counties Championship, 1900-1903. |
