b Woolwich, Kent d France The Brigadier General had an extensive military career. He was commissioned Lt. in the Royal Artillery in 1883; Capt. in 1891; Maj. in 1900; Lt. Col. in 1914 and Brigadier General in 1915. Coincidentally, the first entry of his career details was made by the Trust on 25th April 2005, 90 years to the day after he landed at Gallipoli. At the time of his death he was living at Doria Ascain, Basses, Pyrenees, France. Probate was granted, 1st December 1932 to Alexander Guy Hemsley, Solicitor for his widow, Hildegarde Clothilde Louise. |
