b Snedshill, Shropshire d Heckington, Lincolnshire Charles Cameron was christened on 17 06 1807 in St George, Shropshire. He attended Queen's College Oxford, gaining a BA in 1831 and MA in 1834. He was incumbent of St James's Dudley (1840-44), Worsley, Manchester (1844-53), Oxhey, Watford, Herts (1853-6) then Christchurch, Longlane, Trusley, Derbyshire from 1860 until his death. Charles Cameron was the author of The tyranny of popery by an eye witness as seen in Italy (1853) and of various parochial sermons and addresses; The infallible way to contentment (1849); The British Workman (1855-62). Regarding the death of Charles Cameron, The Gentleman's Magazine, Volume 12, Jan 1862, p.101 states: Dec. 2. In the church at Heckintgton, during divine service, aged 54, the Rev. Charles Cameron, Vicar of Christ Church, Longlane, Trusley, Derbyshire. The deceased, who was brother of the Rev. G. T. Cameron, Vicar of Heckington, was about to preach; he had ascended the pulpit, and had given out the text (from the 93rd Psalm and the latter part of the 5th verse), when he was attacked with paralysis, which at first greatly affected his speech; in the course of three or four minutes he became perfectly inaudible, and fell on the seat in a totally unconscious state, to the great consternation of the congregation. His brother and several gentlemen went immediately to his assistance and raised him up, after which he was carried down into the church and attended by Mr. Franks, surgeon, who was present, and administered some restoratives, but to very little purpose, as it was evidently a death stroke. He never rallied, but died about four o'clock the same afternoon. —Stamford Mercury. Parents of Rev. Charles Cameron:- Rev.
