From the Book Extract:

"...finished his education at Pembroke College, Cambridge. He was Chancellor's Medallist in 1787, and 1789 he gained the member's prize for Essay & Verse"


The Fiske family papers describe him as: "settled in London, and went into business on the Stock Exchange"


A memorial in Aspall Church reads:

Sacred to the memory of

Charles Chevallier esq.

who died Dec 18th 1844, Aged 72

Also of John Chevallier Clerk MD

perpetual curate of this parish

for nearly 50 years

an active and efficient magistrate

for the county of Suffolk

and joint promoter with his brother

of Aspall Hall.

Where they resided together for many years.

He died Aug 18th 1846. Aged 72
