b Chichester, West Sussex d West Sussex Trubshaw played in The Guns of Navarone (1961), The Pink Panther (1963) and Brandy for the Parson (1952). He was married to Cecilia Tower and Margaret Louise McDoudall. He was a military character actor, tall and with a handlebar moustache. He was a close friend of David Niven with whom he served in a Highland Regiment in Malta, and figures prominently in Niven's biography. Trubshaw's debut film was They Were Not Divided (1950) and he also appeared in The Moon's a Balloon and Around the World in 80 Days. He was Niven's best man for both his marriages and was godfather to Niven's son, David Jr. |
